  Life Insurance

Life Insurance can offer security for your family's future.  Life Insurance comes in basically two different types: term insurance and permanent insurance.

Term Life Insurance is a very reasonably priced product and is often used as pure insurance protection.  This type of life insurance is taken for a set period of time - the "term" - and at the end of that time the coverage disappears.  The premium for Term Insurance remains fixed for the length of term chosen; you will not have premium fluctuations from year to year.  There is no accrued cash value with this product.  A variety of terms are available - generally 10-, 15-, 20-, or 30-years - and, with the help of your life agent, you determine the face amount that offers you the protection you need.  In the unfortunate event of the untimely demise of the policy holder, Term Life Insurance can be used to cover a mortgage debt, to secure educational tuition, to replace a lost income or to provide living expenses for those left behind.

"Layering" term life policies is an idea that many of our clients find appealing.  To layer, a client would take out two (or more) policies for two different terms.  The policies could have the same or different face values.  As an example: the client takes out a 20-year Term policy for $500,000 and a 30-year Term policy for $300,000, so for the first 20 years, he/she will have a total of $800,000 of coverage.  For year 21 - 30 (the final 10 years of the original 30-year Term policy), he/she will only have $300,000 of coverage in-force.  This "layering" plan is especially useful for clients with young children who may want more protection in place while the children are growing and need less protection in place after the children have "flown the coop".

Term Life Insurance is also useful for business owners to put in place as Key Man and Buy/Sell Agreement policies.  A Key Man policy insures a vital individual at the company; generally, the company is the owner and beneficiary of the policy and pays all premiums.  A Buy/Sell Agreement policy is usually a provision in the legal document drawn up between business partners and is useful in protecting the continuity of a business in the event one partner passes.

Most Term Life products offer a period of time when the policy holder can  convert the coverage to permanent insurance.  This conversion option is important should the policy holder develop a life-threatening condition while the Term policy is in-force.

Permanent Life Insurance, also known as Universal Life and Whole Life Insurance, offers protection for as long as the policy is kept in-force.  There is usually a cash value that accrues with these products, and this cash value can be used as a loan in time of need.  Permanent Life Insurance is available at various face values.

Group Life Insurance is a low-cost benefit that commercial clients can offer to their employees as part of a new benefit package or as an addition to a package already in place.  This is a great way to show your employees that you value them; the modest cost makes you the employer feel good too!

For a more detailed analysis of the products available, and for a personalized review of the coverage you may need, please contact Jim Quinlan at (201) 652-0407 or by email to jim_quinlan@dsayles.com.

Disability Insurance

Disability Insurance can provide a reliable source of tax-free income should you become temporarily or permanently disabled.  This benefit is available as a personal product and as a group product; please call our office to discuss this coverage more fully.  Jim Quinlan can be reached at (201) 652-0407 or at jim_quinlan@dsayles.com.

 Long Term Care

Long Term Care Insurance can help you preserve your assets and minimize your dependence on family members as you age.  It may also allow you to receive appropriate care at home for a longer period of time, as an alternative to nursing home care.

Long Term Care Insurance is a product that is becoming more and more popular as the population ages and we all find that we need additional services for ourselves or for our parents.  Long Term Care plans are very flexible in how they can be set up; you can pick and choose what you want covered, how much of the expense you want subsidized by the plan, etc.  You can purchase a plan that will cover most if not all of the costs associated with Long Term Care services, or you can pick a more moderate plan that provides you with some reimbursement for certain costs.  It all depends on your individual needs and desires.

Jim Quinlan has been selling Long Term Care Insurance policies for over a decade, and he has the contacts and the know-how to develop a plan that suits you and your budget.  Jim will come to you and discuss the options available, and the costs involved, and together you can determine just what you need.  There is no fee for the consultation.  Give Jim a call at (201) 652-0407 or send an email to jim_quinlan@dsayles.com.

  Group Health Insurance

Group benefits are an important way to attract and retain quality employees.  Group Health coverage, in particular, can also be a major expense for an employer to shoulder.  We represent all of the reputable carriers and will work hard to find you the plan or plans that best fit the needs of your company and of your employees.  Certain benefits, notably Group Long Term Care, can be put in place on a discriminatory basis, meaning that it can be offered only to certain employees (the owners, for example) and does not have to be given to everyone.

In addition to Group Health plans, we can also provide you with Group Life, Group Disability, Group Long Term Care, and Group Dental options.  And, if you are looking to set up a Pension Plan, we can help you with that as well.  Email Jim for more details, jim_quinlan@dsayles.com, or give him a call (201) 652-0407.

Individual Health Insurance

Lost your job?  No more company benefits?  Age out as a dependent on your parent's coverage?  Have to wait a period of time before becoming eligible for Group Coverage with your employer?  We can help!  Individual Health Insurance is a product that can be put in place quickly so you do not have to worry about being without medical coverage.  There are a variety of plans available, all backed by the State of New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.  The plans range from less expensive Catastrophic Coverage to pricey Indemnity Coverage; we can help you decide which plan is right for you and your circumstances.  By New Jersey law, brokers can only sell you Oxford and Horizon individual plans - all other carriers require you to deal directly with them - but the Oxford and Horizon plans are well priced and offer a good selection of options.  We will be glad to provide you with contact numbers for other carriers, if you prefer to select a non-Oxford or Horizon plan.  Give Jim a call at (201) 652-0407 or send along an email to jim_quinlan@dsayles.com.
